So to summarize, mirroring alone is not a comprehensive data protection strategy. Mirroring without a supplemental backup and recovery strategy can lead to multiple issues when it comes to recovery.

This is particularly pertinent to mainframe environments, which hold the most critical data for the largest banks, insurance, and government institutions.
