The window was fine when we bought the car 2 years ago but a while back, it simply stopped working. I called a ex-mechanic friend and together we have done the following: 1. We tested all the car's fuses and they are all fine. Next we tried opening the window manually using the key in the door instead of the switch button.
Holding the key after unlocking brought the driver's window down, but nothing would put it back up again. Still no joy! Finally, I bought a second hand replacement switch for the driver's door also apparently fully tested and working and switched it over, still nothing.
As such, do you have any other suggestions that I can try? Last edited by benavery; 27th July at Vehicle : Vectra C 3. Mentioned Post s Tagged 0 Thread s. Have you tried cleaning the switch contacts? This is a fairly common problem on these cars. Last edited by Woody; 27th July at Hi woody Yes the old switch was fully cleaned with PCB cleaner and that didn't work. As mentioned I have even tried another switch entirely with no joy.
